City Lights
04:28
|
|||
Tangled in what is and what aint,
halfway through my self portrait and I ran out of paint but
blue skies will be comin' my way,
I'm gonna be jumpin' naked into a sparkling bay again.
It's too crowded here to be so lonely
and my one horse town needs another one trick pony,
the smell of stale beer caresses my face
on winds that will blow me far away from this place, 'cause,
I hate the city life
Another pack of beer in the park,
another drunken stumble home in the dark again
and nobody remembers my name
and every single thing I see look exactly the same, because
I hate the city life
I hate the city lights

Sun Rising
04:03
|
|||
I saw the sun rising
it doesn't mean anything at all.
I saw the stars starting to rise
it doesn't mean anything at all.
A name or an explanation won't satisfy me,
in the face of the universal mystery.
I have a very terrible dream
and when i awoke I couldn't remember a single thing
it doesn't mean anything at all.
A name or an explanation won't satisfy me,
in the face of the universal mystery.

Flesh Prism
02:35
|
|||
Open concept kitchen in a trailer park, pale light pours in,
you'll take another coffee as the subject of small talk grows thin,
that welcome sent of cigarettes upon a frigid mountain wind.
The prism of the flesh divides a perfect light so vividly,
into ten thousand colours of a projected reality
of which I am imprisoned but that will not get the best of me babe
hey, hey
dream to me

Outa Sight
05:52
|
|||
The great sadness that the heart feels
if pouring out of your eyes,
silent and but softly singing and slow dancing with me.
When you rolled back into this town
I cut off all of my ties,
hoping to surrender too you and hoping that you could be mine.
And I'd hold you
and I'd let you know
how i've been waitin' for so long for you to come back into my life.
tell me if im outa line, (your outa line)
I know it's far out but its outa sight not outa mind
just tell me that I'm on your mind (your on my mind)
We can go out or we can have some fun tonight.
The great sadness deep in your eyes
is flowing into my heart
silent and but softly singing and slow dancing with me.
when you rolled back into this town
you know I just fell apart
hoping to surrender too you and hoping that you could be mine.

Shallow End
03:36
|
|||
I came here warm heart
well intentioned and when the music started
everyones a sceptic,
and all my dancers are narcoleptic
and I'll get home well weathered
I'd love to flock but theres no birds of this feather
and whats more I can't help but romanticize the war
that keeps me alone
What the hell am I suppose to do now?
What dream is there left to come true for me know?
I'm drowning in the shallow end of the pool.
I wake up hands shakin'
I've been mistakin' my wakin' life for something
worth taking for granted
till nothing seems enchanted and I'd
break down if it mattered
my dreams are shattered, scattered like broken
mirror on the floor
far to disjointed to even recognize myself anymore
What the hell am I suppose to do now?
What dream is there left to come true for me know?
I'm drowning in the shallow end of the pool.

So Long
03:52
|
|||
Well, you feel just like a hail storm
fallin' all around me dear,
and I can tell that somethings going on
so lets just get outa here
lets just get outa here
I've been dreamin' for so long,
waitin' for something like this to come my way,
and I've been waiting for so long,
dreaming of wakin' up next to you each day.
Well your face it looks just like a storm,
calm in your eyes but chaos surrounds,
and just before this wave began to break,
something just lifted me clean off the ground,
something just lifted me clean off the ground
I've been dreamin' for so long,
waitin' for something like this to come my way,
and I've been waiting for so long,
dreaming of wakin' up next to you each day.
"baby, we can take the long way home, baby, only later to just stare at our phones."
